What did you find out on the cable ?  Are the X2  and X4 cross compatble?

On a side note, the R610 supports 6 drives.  Out of the two channels on the H700, one supports x4 drives, and the other supports x2.  Do you think I'll need to find a special x2 cable (it looks like the ones you referenced support x4)?
