1. For Broadcom NIC drivers, its not a good idea to update this way; most of the time the update fails. The method prescribed is the tested method that works.
2. The firmware is a separate download; update the firmware following the driver update : http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/555/DriverDetails/Product/poweredge-6850?driverId=THCKX&osCode=WNET&fileId=3110412972#OtherFormats
3. Once both are updated, along with the Bios and BMC, you will be current.
4. You will need to break the NIC team and after restarting, re-team the NIC's.
