There have been several who have used various SSD's with mixed results, although I can't recall the Samsung specifically. Just realize that Dell's SSD's are not the same class of drive you would by for a regular computer. They aren't so expensive because they just want to gouge you, they are actually an entirely different class of drive. It's not that they are charging you 5x the cost for the same drive ... as long as you realize that and can live with the how it plays out from there, then go for it. Also, while the PERC's are based on LSI controllers, because Dell has tweaked the firmware from LSI, generic/retail drives (even enterprise-class) do not always operate like you would expect them to on an unbranded LSI controller.
Good luck.
